About this product

Product Information

The First Phone Call from Heaven tells the story of a small town on Lake Michigan that gets worldwide attention when its citizens start receiving phone calls from the afterlife. Is it the greatest miracle ever or a massive hoax? Sully Harding, a grief-stricken single father, is determined to find out. An allegory about the power of belief--and a page-turner that will touch your soul--Albom's masterful storytelling has never been so moving and unexpected. Readers of The Five People You Meet in Heaven will recognize the warmth and emotion so redolent of Albom's writing, and those who haven't yet enjoyed the power of his storytelling, will thrill at the discovery of one of the best-loved writers of our time.

The First Phone Call From Heaven Rocks

I love this book and it is one of those that you hate to arrive at the last page. Like a good dream, you wish it would go on and on. An easy read and a pleasant experience. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes to read from ages 12 on up. Two thumbs up!

    A Mediocre Read

I have only gotten into it about 30 pages or so. But the format jumps from character to character as the story unfolds, giving it an unjointed feeling. The dialogue is clipped, not how people really talk. Rather in a half-sentence type communication which is usually seen in cop and criminal books. Because of the brief glimpses of each person's experience over and over, I kept forgetting who the people were. It doesn't flow, at least not for me.

  • CALLS ALL READERS!

Though I enjoy the books that aren't FICTION that Albom has wrote even more, I have to rate this one as excellent. It held my interest.....It's almost a bit of a mystery on "who done it".....I LOVE the ending especially. Some of it is to be expected some of it comes as a surprise. All of Albom's books that I have read have been great. I'm not a sports lover so not going down that dark alley. I have read all others except the Time Keeper which I will read as soon as I can. The videos are as good as the books! Mitch Albom has "writer's flair" and does not fail to disappoint. He's one of my favorite Authors. There are many books I don't enjoy but Albom's rates at the top with those that I do. If you haven't read this, I suggest you pick up a copy soon. You'll be glad you did!

  • Very easy reading

  • A real page turner!

Mitch Albom keeps you engrossed from the beginning till the end. What a wonderful idea if we actually could speak with our loved ones from beyond the grave! As with all of his books, he makes it seem believable.
