I saw Ms. King on a cable craft-related show not long after this book was released. I grabbed paper and pen, then watched-wrote down her method as she folded wire ribbon, then stitched it and gently pulled the wire to create a perfect pansy. I was so excited about this new concept that I almost ran to my local fabric store to purchase a yard of wire ribbon and get started. The pansy I produced looked exactly like the one she created; better still, it was just as easy. First step accomplished, now it was time to search out her book. Found the hardback version. Saw the price. Ouch! While I love craft and sewing books, I tend to cringe at their original price. Never could find this one in paperback. Until now. My sewing friends, whose work leans heavily towards ribbon ornamentation and embellishment, love this how-to book and have raved about it for years. They're thrilled I finally found My Copy. Even if my talents go no further than to create better, more life-like pansies, the book's cost will have been repaid a thousand fold. Once I began to take chances and try my hand at other forms of fiber art, working with ribbons and fabric became less challenging, more fun. Would I advise anyone who yearns for beauty as they gaze upon an unadorned sale hat, scarf, etc., but afraid they'll fail miserably to buy this book? YES! There is something freeing about working with one's hands to create something that is one's own. While I realize almost everyone works with their hands nowadays (otherwise, how would we read this review), there is a major difference between temporal and tactile design. While temporal may pay the bills, tactile brings a great sense of accomplishment, not to mention satisfying one's pleasure needs. Lil' Ol' Lady Rating? Five Stars!

Perfect book for learning and so many great ideas for using the ribbons!
I absolutely LOVE this book for the colored pictures and the beautiful illustrations contained in the book. The directions and pictures show how to do it and are very good and easy for a beginner. I purchased several books and this is one of two that I keep coming back to. Would highly recommend if you wish for fast and easy but also beautiful results even with your first try!!!
