I gave you a positive rating only because the book was in good condition as far as no torn or missing pages, cover intact BUT the cover was stained with multiple brown marks many looking like someones fingerprints. The cover was very dirty and looked gross! I have purchased many used books on eBay but never received one like this. I know you have a very good rating on eBay so I figure this was just a mistake, but I will start asking sellers does the book look clean.

Used book in good condition. The cover is different from the cover pictured above, but that doesn't make the book different.

It’s the right book but it’s the wrong cover which is kind of extremely annoying. I got a bunch of DoorDash gift cards with my book so I can poison myself with enriched flour and seed oils, though, so at least there’s that.

    The Book of the State

This book is a spine-chillingly accurate depiction of what living in a totalitarian state where everything you do is watched. Free thought is almost nonexistent as language has been progressively simplified down to only the most basic and uneducated terms so that people no longer have the words to exchange ideas. Relics of the once free past still exist but none survive who remember what they were for or even are, the government falsifies wars and transgressions done by enemies who were allies only a few years before, yet to remember even that is blasphemy against the state. Human nature itself is crushed down to but a few tiny fragments of desires, as no one is encouraged to love or build a family except to either indulge in momentary pleasure or to produce more workers for the ...

    Good enough condition

The book is in Good condition. It is very readable. The only problem is with all the junk offers that are included in the package. It is more paper and plastic waste that I, and anyone living on the same planet have to deal with. If I knew of this I would have been happy enough with the digital copy I already own.

  • A Political prophecy of Sorts

Uncanny book!! Orwell must have had a crystal ball when he pinned this book. Looking back, he was right on target with his information. Since I have lived through that time and have had a first hand look at a lot of the things he spoke about, I am startled at his being able to predict with such accuracy, the world's current condition. It is a MUST book to read.

  • Cover can be different

Was wanting a 1984 with a cool cover to use for a book exchange. I didn't read all of the description which is my fault but the book that came had a different cover that was underwhelming compared to the picture. That was disappointing but again my fault. Otherwise it is a great read, nicely packaged, as described

  • Awesom book if you love true freedom!! For both Democrats and Republicans

Well the 1984 book is compelling. It makes you wonder was there some master plan in place 40-60 years ago. George Orwell almost predicts the future in his book and you learn to realize that freedom is very fragile. Highly recommend!!
