Great cookbook for slow cookers!
I had actually checked this book out of the library. I usually copy any recipes I find interesting. There were so many good slow cooker recipes in this book that I just went ahead and found it on Ebay to order. It has a lot of different and good recipes without the endless lists of ingredients that some cookbooks have. I cannot stand cookbooks that have spices and ingredients you have never even heard of and have to pay a lot for. So this cookbook has easy to do recipes with common ingredients. Get it if you have a slow cooker. I was looking for different recipes to try and this has a lot!!I had actually checked this book out of the library. I usually copy any recipes I find interesting. I have used this book for years. I bought this for my exsister-in-law. She isn't a cook but has looked up crockpot dishes on the internet. Told her with this book you won't need any other book. I also have about five other crockpot books by this author but this is my favorite.

Slow cookers have been making a comeback into out lives because so many of us have other things to occupy our time rather than cooking in the kitchen for an hour or two. I have several of the slow cooker cookbooks, but this one is probably the one I use most of the time, because of the consistent quality of good food taste and the ease in which it is prepared. I am not looking for something gourmet, but down to earth that my family will eat and not pick over. If that's you, then this is the book! Yes, it does make mostly 6 to 8 servings but I haven't found much that I can't freeze for another meal. I call that a bonus! Remember also.....slow cookers are gentle on your budget. Tougher cuts of meat turn out like fillet mignon at the end of the day. This book covers all ... The sections of the book are well defined by catagory. The recipes are written in an easy to read format; titled, listed ingredients (all familiar ones), suggested basic layering order, temp setting, hours to cook, done! Love the layout, each recipe reads from top to bottom, in separate columns. Spiral book lies open nice and flat. I purchased this book as a gift for my daughter when she moved to her first apartment in 2001. Truly, I got tired of calling her to email me a recipe and bought a copy for myself. Plan to give a copy as a gift to my best pal, who is too tired to cook these days as she's going through Chemo. LOVE this book!The sections of the book are well defined by catagory. The book was in excellent condition, looked new. It has great recipes for crock pots and would be a great help to working moms.I would highly recommend it. It has recipes for main dishes, appetizers, soups, breads, desserts, beverages, and vegetables. It has a spiral binding that lets it lay flat and makes it very easy to use while cooking. It has plenty of variety in the recipes (beef, chicken, lamb, venison) A great addition to any kitchen.The book was in excellent condition, looked new.
