Product Information

Angela Bennett (Sandra Bullock) is a beautiful but reclusive computer systems analyst who enjoys her lonely nights surfing the net and entering chat lines. When a friend sends her a disk infected with a curious bug, she is caught up in an internet nightmare when she tries out the new program. The "beta" program gains her access to some of the world's most sensitive databases, but her friend turns up dead and she discovers that her identity has been erased and she has been given a new one which proves her to be a criminal. She must then set out to find who is behind the nefarious plot. Director Irwin Winkler produced such film classics as ROCKY and GOODFELLAS.

    Fast Paced Thriller

    The Net is a fast paced thriller about a software expert who unwittingly becomes engaged in a high stakes game of cyber espionage. The plots twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. Prepare for a surprise ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this film.

    Great film for delving into identity theft.

    I really love this film and the way it's subject matter delves into identity theft, I had it done to myself so I can identify with it. Sandra Bullock is perfect in the role of Angela Bennett/ Ruth Marks, Jeremy Northam is convincing in the role of the villain and Dennis Miller is great in the role of the only person she can turn to in her crisis. Veteran actress Diane Baker is also great in the role of her mother suffering from Alzheimers'. As is the rest of the supporting cast. It is a great suspense film. Thanks for it Ebay.com and seller.

    Sandra Bullock at her best!

    Granted, the technology has changed drastically since the mid 90's, however the stolen identity aspect of this suspense movie is still ever present. I love Sandra Bullock movies, and she really shines in this one. I've seen it at the movies when it first came out over a decade ago. I've seen in on TV several times since. It was finally time to get the DVD as they don't show it on cable much lately. The movie was released in the year that I was just getting really interested in computers, so watching the movie really "hit the spot" back then. I've never lost the interest even though many things have changed dramatically. If you are a Sandra Bullock fan, the chances are you've already seen this gem. If not, you won't be disappointed in this oldie but goodie ;)

    I loved it!

    The net is a great mystery movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat at all times! I got invovled in trying to solve the mystery but every time i thought i had i figured out, things went for a spin. There is some irony! Unlike most movies these days, it is unpredictable and appropriate for the entire family. This movie makes us face the facts about life and how our entire lives are on the computer. It made me more aware of my identity and i believe this movie sends out a good message. It also had the perfect ending! This movie is one of my favorites and it is worth buying!
