About this product

Product Information

Appropriate for microprocessor courses teaching the 80x86 family. Offering students a real hands-on experience, this clearly written, visually appealing text takes the fear out of learning about computers by teaching assembly language programming in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach. Combining assembly and C programming early on, it uses the Debug utility to first show students what action instructions perform, then provides programs to demonstrate their application. Numerous examples, problems, and review questions continually reinforce concepts throughout.

  • A good read, especially if you like a Huckleberry Fin type story

A story about two teenage boys that take a cross country flight in their dads J-3 Cub in 1966. As growing boys, they view their father in different ways, and share the experience of flying a small airplane from New Jersey to California.

  • it brings back the sixty's and how great they were.

I'm just over three quarters way through the book and am thoroughly enjoying it. The boys relationship with their father is classic. Anyone interested in aviation will enjoy this book. There are two stories, the teenage boys growing up and getting introduced to the nation they live in and the story about an old airplane that flew them into the different lifestyles in this country. It is truly a book that is hard to put down.

  • Great coming of age story, family, the seventies

Author Rinker Buck has a newspaper man's honed skill for compact composition. A great deal happens in just a few pages of this enjoyable read. For aviation buffs, this is joyfully required reading, recalling a time when a couple of high school boys could rebuild a plane and fly from coast to coast for just a few hundred dollars. But even for those not particularly interested in flying, this is a wonderful ribald story of boy entering manhood, of learning to navigate not only an aircraft, but the intrigues of family life, and of the great American road adventure. Highly recommended for adult and young adult readers.

  • A good read.

It's about two young brothers atempting to fly across the USA. For most readers, it's a good coming-of-age story, but might seem a bit over-involved with aviation issues. For those interested in flying, it's a two-way winner, with both an interesting family story, and lots of aviation technique and history.
