They worked for my unusual application, for which the alternative solution would be very expensive. I needed to replace the little rubber bumpers under the gratings on my Viking cooktop. The manufacturer advised that it would be necessary to replace an entire grating, at several hundred dollars each. With a slight widening of the holes, I was able to insert these plugs as needed. Soon I will know if they can take the heat, but so far so good.
