About this product

Product Information

Even though working a wake isn't Goldy Bear's idea of fun, the Colorado caterer throws herself into preparing a savory feast featuring Poached Salmon and Strawberry Shortcake Buffet designed to soothe forty mourners. Her culinary efforts seem to be exactly what the doctor ordered . . . until her former father-in-law, gynecologist Fritz Korman, is struck down--and Goldy is accused of adding poison to the menu. Now, with the Department of Health impounding her leftovers, her ex-husband trashing her name, and her business close to being shut down, Goldy knows she can't wait for the police to serve up answers. She soon uncovers more than one skeleton in the closet, along with a veritable slew of unpalatable secrets--the kind that could make Goldy the main course in an unsavory killer's next murder. Praise for Diane Mott Davidson and Catering to Nobody "A medley of murder, mayhem, and melted chocolate." -- New York Post "Diane Mott Davidson's culinary mysteries can be hazardous to your waistline." -- People "Delicious . . . sure to satisfy " --Sue Grafton Includes recipes

  • Catering To Nobody--------------Paperback 2002

In this first book with Goldy, has just divorced her abusive doctor husband and begins to find work to support herself and her young son, Arch. Since she loves to cook, she begins a catering service. Her first job is to cater an event at her son's private elementary school. During the event, a body is found of Arch's former elementary school teacher. Since this happened at an event she catered she wants some answers and begins to sleuth. She finds out everyone seems to have a secret of some sort they are hiding. In this first book she also will meet her next husband, Tom Schultz, a police officer assigned to the case. I loved this first book and have continued to read about Goldy over the years until her books began to whine too much about her ex-husband and rebellious teenage son. The ...

  • Catering to Nobody

I had read several of the other Diane Mott Davidson novels and was able to find all that I had not been able to previously buy on ebay. The entertaining antics of Goldy the caterer and the way that she investigates while serving excellent food is fun reading to me. The unique way that the author combines the recipes with the mystery aspect of her writing makes these novels unique. I liked this one as it was the first and laid a "framework" to all the novels. Goldies history as an abused wife made her seem like a real person in the world, her struggles to support herself and her son gave her a personality. Each novel that Mary Mott Davidson writes is an entire story in itself so even one alone is entertaining.

  • Absolute Treat!

I absolutely LOVE this series of books about Goldy! They're thrilling and keep you interested till the last page. I had already read this book once before buying it, but I was hooked and had to buy it along with the other 14 books in the series. I just finished re-reading this one last night, and have already started on the second one 'Dying For Chocolate' which I've also read once before. This book is highly recommended to anyone that likes a good murder mystery.

  • Always great delivery and a great book.

The book was a real good read. I'm going to read the whole lineup. There's about 12 or 13 or ?. Really enjoy them and the recipes are a nice plus.
