A Beautiful Story of Faith and Friendship

The remarkable story of how two complete opposites become close friends and what they learn from each other. It is a story of faith and how it is tested and strengthened. This was a book club selection from my local club. The reason I joined was to take me out of my reading comfort zone, expose me to new authors and get my mind stirring in different directions. • A book that has changed the way I look at life

I have always liked autobiographies and "hearing someone else's life story" and finding out what they learned from life's experiences. I bought this book because one of the authors was coming to my favorite church in Springfield, Missouri (Second Baptist Church), and I wanted to find out why they supported him. This book was really touching in a convicting sort of way. It centers around a very wealthy woman's ministry to the homeless in Fort Worth, Texas: a ministry that served to win the homeless to Christ by simply loving them: through total non-judgmental selflessness and friendship on her part, and by making each realize that, no matter what they'd been through, each was worthwhile. • same kind of different as me!

I've read it before. Excellent book. A good friend of mine loaned it to me to read. I gave it back to him a couple of years ago. He passed away several weeks ago, at 91 years old. Navy and Air Force Veteran from WWII, and Korea. His daughter took his books. I wanted a copy, as a memory. The Movie is supposed to be out, sometime this month.

  • Same Kind of Different as Me

Love this book. How every other chapt is written from each of the authors point of view. How from the vast differences between the two men comes together.

  • Same Kind of Different

This is one of the best books I've ever read. A real game changer!! I loaned my original copy to a friend and never got it back, so this is a replacement. It's the kind of book that you will want to re-read!! Heartwarming '❤️
