About this product

Product Information

Father Tim and Cynthia have been at home in Mitford for three years since returning from Whitecap Island. In the little town that's home-away-from-home to millions of readers, life hums along as usual. Dooley looks toward his career as a vet; Joe Ivey and Fancy Skinner fight a haircut price war that takes no prisoners; and Percy steps out on a limb with a risky new menu item at the Main Street Grill. Though Father Tim dislikes change, he dislikes retirement even more. As he and Cynthia gear up for a year-long ministry across the state line, a series of events sends shock waves through his faith-and the whole town of Mitford. In her seventh novel in the bestselling Mitford Years series, Jan Karon delivers surprises of every kind, including the return of the man in the attic and an ending that no one in Mitford will ever forget.

Not a sleepy tale...characters who stay with you

Just read this Mitdord series by Jan Karon. My entire extended family is reading them. When you're reading _In This Mountain_, you are living in Mitford, enjoying the small town gossip, experiencing Tim's worries along with him...and being uplifted by his faith. Father Timothy married at the age of 62. His wife, Cynthia is high spirited and adds to the fun in these books. They're not sleepy little novels....they are grand books which stay with you.

  • In This Mountain

I bought the first book at a store that had used books included in their things for sale. While reading the book I was hooked and looking at the first pages, realized they were a series. I went to a used book store and accidently but happily found only two of Jan Karon's books, one was the one that I was reading at the time and the other happened to be book two which I purchased very quickly. After doing research and learning how much it was going to cost to purchase the rest of the series from the published, I happened to remember purchasing some books a couple years before from e-bay, so I went to the website and found all of the rest of the series. I love reading these books because not only do they are so well written that you actually feel like you are right there in Mitford while you ...
