It is what it claims to be, but nothing special
This DVD is exactly what it claims to be, but the same program is featured on "The Return of the King" DVD. Most people would be better off just buying "The Return of the King" DVD and watching this from the special features. The product itself, however, is excellent.

Nothing special. Buy "Return/King"& this is in features
Nothing too groundbreaking here. You may get a little more history on the writer of the book, J.R.R. Tolkien, but as far as the film goes, everything on this program is on the special features of the DVD (Return of the King). This was not a bad program, but I don't see any reason to buy this when you can just buy The Lord of the Rings and get this type of documentary with the movie.

Beyond LOTR
If you want an in depth analysis of the characters and comparisons to real life heroes then this movie is for you. It is less than an hour long but it is absolutely fascinating and has great clips from The Return of the King. This analysis made my imagination soar and helped me to think beyond the amazing story of Lord of the Rings and allowed me to connect Middle Earth to the real world.
