this is the best can of liquid, value wise, you will ever buy. simply put: it works 100% the they say..(and everyone else). I tried every substitution I could possibly think of, and this is the only thing that works perfectly for electrical contacts. a can will last for tons of uses, and is nicely designed with a dial spray head, for small bursts. this will make a knob from a guitar amp from 1965 sound new, and also clean the contacts on your SD card reader. used carefully, the uses are endless. It works wonders!
I had couple of mixers that I was going to replace because the sounded like garbage. These mixers had channels cutting in/out, switches doing the same, and input positions with differential gain staging from channel to channel(not designed that way), pots that were extremely stiff or scratchy, and faders that when moved would caused static. Now as if one of these issues alone is enough, with all problematic simultaneously one can see how the end looked so near for these mixers. I used Deoxit D5 along with Deoxit Faderlube and both mixers came back to life as good as need. Smooth pots, faders, and the input positions. I use half of the gain used prior with twice the the signal!. Day and night difference. Boards worked on were a Yamaha MG16/6fx and a Allen and Heath Zed14. Best thing since Deoxit D5 - for potentiometers!
I have used Deoxit D5 on switches and potentiometers that needed cleaning for almost 40 years now. I bought a can of Deoxit F5 to try it on some potentiometers and some sliders that I was cleaning on an amplifier. Let me tell you - I use Deoxit D5 like I always have, and get great results - however, a spritz of Deoxit F5 into the potentiometer - and it moves better and is not just quiet, it is SUPER quiet. Caig Labs does it again! This electronics technician of almost 40 years has NO trouble recommending Deoxit D5 (to wash and base clean), and then a spritz of Deoxit F5 (to clean, quiet and lubricate) on any type of potentiometer. Fader 5 is a 5 star product!!
I am so impressed with this product , and Im hard to impress. I used it first on the volume switch to an old receiver that was static and choppy and it was an instant fix and all my switches are really smooth now. I had a vintage dirtdevil hand vacuum that I cleaned out really well to find the motor ceased so I tried it on that after a couple sprays with with black coming out the back. I wiped off the excess spun the motor with my hand by turning the brush, plug it in works flawlessly and very smooth. I used it on a variable switch to really cool vintage fan, fixed that again smooth switch operation. This is the good stuff for you musicians. Service your own guitars and amps and save lots of money. I bought some cheaper stuff once and it melted the plastic in the pots and I had to replace all of them. Fixed my Fader on Numark Pro 3
Lubricated and fixed my fader problem on my numark pro 3. Fader would jump around when put on the right side, completely fixed it since the spray helps with connectivity!
