    Pinsky's American's Favorite Poems a Favorite

    We purchased this edition for our daughter's homeschool curriculum. However, we have ended up reading aloud from it each day during our joint session with all three of our teenagers. Our sons haven't shown much interest in poetry previously. However, this volume helps demonstrate how poetry has proved meaningful in the lives of readers from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, experience, occupations and interests. Each poem is introduced through the comments of a reader who cared enough about it to submit it to the project. Thus, each page become a communication not only of a poet's interaction with the world, but that of readers as well. Fascinating and insightful.
