Pretty decent graphics - designed more from the manga than the anime. Cell shading has some cool ink-pen effects, and makes the characters feel more drawn. The gameplay is great, easy to pick up and feels like a combination of Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 and Super Smash Bros. The items seem a little unnecessary, and I almost never use them in a serious battle. The Ultimate Jutsus are amazing, awesome little cutscenes for each, (1st Hokage's is INSANE!) and there are 3 or 4 different ones to choose from for each character - on average. Some moves seem a little imbalanced, as the computer cannot guard against them on any difficulty, but honestly, it provides a nice fail-safe for particularly hard battles. The RPG mode has some cool controls, and I found leaping across the village from rooftop to rooftop to be a lot of simplistic fun. The Story Mode left a lot of battles to be desired, and it wouldn't have taken too much to add all the battles and different stages of battles from the series. Tenkaichi 2 it's not, but apparently we do have Ultimate Ninja STORM for PS3 to look forward to - which looks to be a much bigger success than DBZ Burst Limit. Great game overall, and it does my heart good to see the Fourth Hokage as a playable character for the first time!Read full review
I only think, out of the Naruto "US" games that are sent here this is probably the only one I think should be purchased. I played Naruto Ultimate Ninja 1 & 2, Naruto Clash of Ninja 1,2,3, Revolution & 4. And out of all the Naruto Games I played the only ones I like to play are from Japan and for Japan only like Naruto Clash of Ninja 3 & 4 also known as Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 & 4. So if you want better games other than this one get Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX, and 2 or Naruto Shippuden: Accel, and 2. But other than that for the "US" Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 (PlayStation 2) is by far the best Naruto Game imported to the US. The Game has it's strong points like a well given roster of characters from the Zabuaza saga all the say to the Sasuke's retrieval saga. Then the game has very easy and playable combos to figure out for people all ages. Then there's also a lot of this to do in the game with different missions and modes to do to be able to get all the characters Ultimate Specials. The only problem I feel there was is there isn't different levels of Ultimate Specials like there was for the games previous games. then the game's story-line doesn't go through the entire story it's cut up into bits of the story to where you have what they say is "important" parts in the story like the fight with Naruto and Neji but not the fight with Gaara and Rock Lee!? But all in all it's a pretty good game to add to your collection of Naruto...Read full review
The whole naruto ultimate ninja fighting series is amazing. I like the fact that gameplay is so fast paced, and you have many options of what to do and how to act. The enviroments are somewhat interactive, you recieve items from them, which is always fun. I'm not a big fan of other fighters, because they are so limited both in choices and environment, which might be why I like this one so much. As far as, the series goes I would rate it in order of 4,2,3,1 (with # 4 being the best) there reason for this is in # 3 the jutsu's(special attacks) are set up differently then the rest of the series and some of them are just to powerful. It helps to be familiar with the show, but you don't have to be. In my opinion, #4 is hands down the best fighter out there. Better then mortal kombat or dead or alive, or tekken or any of them. My only real complaint is there isn't enough blood in these games or limbs being hacked off, but if you can get past the lack of more "mature" graphics, the gameplay is very fastpaced and fun. But all in all it is a great game to play with a friend. It's not nearly as fun playing by yourself with this game, but that's just my personal preference.Read full review
The game was way easier than the first and second Ultimate Ninja games (which I still haven't beaten), and I was able to fully 100 percent everything in it (missions, story, all scrolls and characters unlocked, etc...) in 27 hours. Now that Ive finished it there is no point to play anymore cause there is nothing more to do. The story plot is shorter than that of ultimate ninja 2 and is sort of like ultimate Ninja 1 in that it is short and boring. There are some cool new features in it though that are not in the previous 2 titles like roaming around the map and being able to run up walls (:!!! Also there are scrolls u can collect for completing missions to trade for items or cash. There are 20 lvls to play on now!!! There are also a bunch of new characters that are way cooler than the previous titles. The ultimate system is a lot differnt in this one though. You don't have multiple attacks or scenes when performing your ultimate ninjutsu, You have to do them 1 by 1 and you cant change them during battle you have to select b4 the battle starts which is the most retarded way (in my opinion) of coming up w/this system. They could of kept the moves seperate, and at least let you perform multiple ultimates ( like lvl 1 bar, and lvl 3 bar in same fight) like in the first and 2nd games. A fun Game if you like the Naruto games and want to experience it in a whole new light. But way to easy and short to beat. Not worth ever touching again unless playing multi player w/a friend.Read full review
First off, the shipping was incredibly fast! It arrived surprisingly fast, days sooner than I thought on the earliest estimated date. Great value for good condition games. Can tell it has been used but still in good condition. All 4 games for half the price roughly. As for the games I've played before except for the 4th I love these and regretted giving them away so much I had to by them again. The graphics improve by the game but are nothing special even in their time. Other than that every other aspected is great and is really improved upon for each game. The amount of characters and kevels. As well as, the game modes, tons of content, and most important all the games are just fun and addicting! Even if you know nothing about the show I'd say these games are just great classic versus fighting games to rival others in the genre. The more you do know about Naruto the more its adds to the games and how good they are at the core. Overall the core elements are so good its easy overlook so of the redundancies and tedioum. Like anime or fighting games would recommend the series! Great buy!👍Read full review
