    An Industry Standard

Just about anyone in the shooting sports is familiar with these earmuffs. I myself have been hearing about these for years but until recently only had a pair of old school maroon and black earmuffs that I'd owned for 18 years. I have never owned a pair of electronic earmuffs or even tried a pair before, but I'm glad I took a chance on these. Features: powered by two AAA batteries amplifies low-level sounds while reducing sounds above 82dB folds for convenient storage 4 hour automatic shut-off 3.5mm AUX jack for mp3 player or radio The Good: There is a single battery compartment on one side of the earmuffs. This means you don't have to replace batteries on both sides. The only downside (if this matters to you at all) is that a cable is routed through the headband from one cup to the other. A dial allows you to select the ideal volume level for you, whether you are indoors, outdoors at the range or hunting deep in the woods. When I initially tried them at home, I could hear my dog snoring on the other side of the house. The Bad: The sound quality from the AUX jack is sub par. I for one don't listen to music at the range, but if you happen to that might be a deal breaker. My Final Verdict: Despite the poor audio input quality, these are great earmuffs and they are an industry standard for a reason, it seems. If you want a pair of electronic earmuffs but can't drop $140+ on the Peltors the secret squirrels use these will serve you just fine.

    Good for short term use!

The earmuffs block loud noise as described and amplify other noise per volume control. When i purchased they were advertised as rechargeable but came with standard batteries and no way to recharge. The music plug in doesn't work really well as you can't hear the music very well. Also if you wear them for am extended amount of time, moisture builds up inside from sweat and shorts the earphones out. I had to disassemble product and dry out interior. They are advertised as comfortable enough for all day use and they are not bad but expect problems with moisture. They work well for short term use if your at the range or cutting grass.

  • Awesome Product!!

Wasn't sure about these when I ordered them. Received them and tried them out, wow these ear protectors are nothing short of AMAZING!!!! They are great when you have them turned off, and even better when you turn them up to listen to someone talk. Ok, then the bonus feature, plug in audio jack and your phone music so you can rock out while you shoot. Life is good at that point!!!!! Highly recommend them for comfort, safety and pleasure..... • Should of had these years ago

These earmuffs work great! You can adjust the amount of amplification of the outside noises to suit your needs with the volume control switch. They turn off after a couple of hours to save your battery, I think it is 4 hours. If the switch is turned off, the outside noise is a lot less than with conventional non-amplified earmuffs. I wish I had bought these years ago, my hearing would be much better now. I can use these with my hearing aids. With the muffs and my aids, the amplification is a lot louder, but the noise is still deadened when it reaches too loud. Buy these, good price, ship fast.

  • Absolute minimum for Electronic Earpro.

These things work, and they work decently. They aren't particularly fragile nor durable, and for around 30-40 bucks, are an ok buy. The most notable feature it has over other similar models is how slim they are. These things make even Walker's Razor slims feel quite thick. But, as far as cons go, I have to vouch for Walker's in terms of quality. Razor slims are just better in every category except physical size and possibly comfort depending on your head. They sound better, are way more durable, have more responsive controls, etc. So unless you need an EXTREMELY slim profile, I'd have to recommend you shell out like the extra 5 bucks to get a pair of Razor slims over these.

  • Howard Leight Earmuff review

I borrowed a pair of these from a co-worker, I was so blown away at how well they worked, I ordered 2 pairs for myself. After loaning a pair to my son, he fell in love with them, and bought a pair. Lightweight and very compact when folded. It does an excellent job muffling gun shots. The ability to turn up the volume and actually amplify sounds is a real plus, while still blocking out gun shots! I love the automatic shut off, I am sure that I would probably leave them on and find a dead battery when I needed to use them again, if it was not for this excellent option. I would recommend these to anyone.

  • Great Headphones

I have to so say that these are great headphones for shooting. I particularly like the mp3 feature and the automatic noise reduction. Great headphones, and at a reasonable price. The only con, I would have to say is the instructions for the headphones state that will auto shut off, my headphones do not shut off automatically.

  • Worth having

These are great for shooting. You can acually hear people talk around you. Now if someone at the range is shooting a 223 or higher caliber with an installed muzzle break, you will need to also where earplugs underneath. Muzzle breaks reduce recoil on rifles but are extremely loud. These earphones are very comfortable and easy to use.

  • The only electronic muffs I'll buy

I've owned many different pairs of electronic muffs for about thirty years, and the Howard Leight Impact Sports are the best I've found. These are the only electronic muffs I"ll buy from now on. They are flat, and don't interfere with gun mount. They have the least wind noise of the many pairs I've owned and tried. The two AA batteries that power them last a long time, and the muffs shut off by themselves after several hours. They fold into a compact size to pack in a shooting jacket. They deliver stereo sound, so you can tell where sounds are coming from, and shut off and come back on without any noticeable delay when a gun goes off. These are simply the best electronic muffs I've found, and I must have tried them all. You owe it to yourself to buy a pair of Howard Leight electronic muffs. They sell for about forty dollars, give or take a few bucks, and you'll like them so much you'll want spares, for your shooting buddies. To sweeten the deal, if you are between rounds of skeet or trap, there's a little plug to connect them to your smart phone so you can listen to music. These are simply the finest electronic muffs on the market.
