Bought this product to set up a small home server using my old Intel i5 processor. Worked perfectly, which is more than I can say for some of the brand new motherboard I've bought in the past.

I love these boards, they're old but still alive. Even if designed for low-emd desktops, you can fit a Xeon cpu on them and with 16G of ram (max) you can easily build a mini but still powerful server.

Excellent for the price. Be aware of the Bios jumper next to the Sata connectors, position 2&3 allows you make adjustments in the Bios but does not allow a boot up. Position 1&2 allows boot up. Bios updates are Bios 048 next Bios 099 then finally Bios 116. you MUST apply these updates in sequence, do not go straight to Bios 116. Bois 099 seems a bit flaky but 116 sorts out the issues, ( and eliminates the need to mess with the Bios jumper). Available from stonegroup co uk There is Bios's 118 and 120 but 120 is NOT recommended. I have yet to confirm if 116 supports 3rd gen cpu's hopefully it does. I run Elementary linux and boot up is very quick. Opening and using programs is also very quick and smooth. That's using a low end pentium G2020 and 4Gb of ram. Youtube high res video's play fine with no stuttering using the cpu's built in graphics. There is no option for a normal Graphics card but a 1 x PCIe graphics card can be fitted. Overall well worth it, Lots of technical fun for little money, cpu's can be had very cheaply (pentiums and core i3 though i5 can be pricey) .Read full review
