    Solution is efficient

    Pro: As a techie, I am always looking for "that" special adapter which will easily solve my needs. It product is easy to use, and the USB 3.0 is work with. Con: nothing wrong with the product. If is was ESata I would jump for joy. Still cobbling other SATA products to create that indispensable ESata to Sata adapter for hard drives.

    My computer crashed - it would not even boot up - I removed the hard drive from the tower -plugged it into the vantec NexStar and BAM- just like that I was able to read everything on the old drive and copy it to my new computer- it is a terabyte Drive - I recovered all my I tunes library-and other saved music , all my photos, all my Microsoft office ( excel) documents . Programs and even games- the old drive was a Windows 7 that had been updated to windows 10 when that update was free- the new computer is windows 10 also

    Does esxactly what it should

    Bought this to be able to use optical drives as external and also to be able to test them without installing them in a machine. Burned Blu-Rays with two different BDR drives with no issues. Perfect Plug 'n Play. A case with USB 3.0 capability is around three times as expensive.

    Works as advertised!

    Awesome product works right out of the box. Hooked up to my 5.25" Internal blu ray drive and plugged it into my USB port and the drive was recognized immediately by Windows. Had previously tried a StarTek adapter (different company) and was a no-go. This one is plug-and-play and works well. Highly recommeded.

    Compact solution for extenal SATA Drives

    I just upgraded my system with a smaller case. I no longer need a permanently installed optical drive, but still need to occasional disk. The NexStar is a perfect solution. I works with my Blu-Ray drive and with spare external hard drives.
