I have used this three times so far for ice fishing. Set up is easy and instruction manual is thorough. I use a small camera tripod as a stand as unit is equipped with a threaded inlet. Shows depth and has audible fish alarm. I like the flasher feature but need a little more time to figure it out. I like the compact design and easy to read screen. You can check battery strength with built in voltage readout. Make sure to bring extra batteries if you plan to use unit all day. I've been getting around seven or eight hours of constant use. Kinda poor.
I spent very little time with it due to the cord being very stiff. It had a natural bend which didnt allow the transducer to see my jig while ice fishing. Keep in mind i have a very high quality fishfinder also. If you buy, keep low standards.

I previously had the Fishtrax 1x, and recently purchased the Fishtrax 1c after being thoroughly happy with the 1x. The screen on the 1c is a massive upgrade to the original dot matrix screen of the 1x, being brighter and far more clear to read. I have now used them both on the ice in Northern Minnesota, and can say that the accuracy of the sonar is fantastic. When tested side by side with a Marcum flasher, it did equally well. Compared to cheaper portable sonars, these units also provided the familiar "arcs" to represent fish instead of the extremely inaccurate fish icons provided by the cheaper units. I bought this to carry with to hike-in lakes, and after my initial battery of tests, I'd have no qualms carrying it with me. There were, however, 2 downsides I found... but nothing ... I previously had the Fishtrax 1x, and recently purchased the Fishtrax 1c after being thoroughly happy with the 1x. There were, however, 2 downsides I found... but nothing that was a deal breaker for me: 1) The depth/temp/voltage values take up a lot of real estate on the screen. From what I've been able to tell, this cannot be removed or resized in the settings. This is possibly a user error though... 2) The unit takes 4 AAA batteries. When using this sonar, I left it sitting directly on the ice. The batteries got cold, and the life of the unit lasted roughly 3 hours. I had the brightness set low, but I had the chart speed set high, which likely impacted the life. This can be remedied though, by keeping the unit off the ice, or by buying a 12 volt battery adapter which the manufacturer has available on their site. Overall, for a portable sonar I was very impressed at how well it worked for how cheap it was. From the perspective of an avid fisherman of 4 decades, this little unit deserves high marks.

If you are looking for a very economical yet effective fish finders, this is your unit. It is small but very readable. As a new user I especially enjoyed the simulation mode to help me setup the unit and learn its features.

Good all around tool for serious fishing.
I used it the first time ice fishing using the flasher mode and it was very accurate. It showed fish coming for my jig but was unable to hook one.I look forward to spring fishing now and to see how all the other features work.Build quality is amazing and the ease of use is a great bonus.
