I liked that it was a phone that works.I got it changed over to my phone number quickly. I took it to the verizon store they charged it over in about five minutes. I had my mother's old phone and I hated it. I like the way the phone had a nice battery it holds a charge. I have always had lg phones and I trust the brand. Thats why I bought it because it was that brand. I also had others batteries if that battery didn't work.I wasn't happy that it only had a car charger with it. I wish it would have had one that you plug into electricity. I had to go to five stores before I found something that I could use to plug it into electricity. I didn't see that on the info that it only had a car charger with it. I fixed the problem with the charger and now it is one that I can plug into electricity and use in the car both. I am very happy with the phone it solved my problem and it is a nice phone. It was a good price too. I paid a lot more for my phones and I am happier with this phone. The price and the brand was the reason that I bought this phone. thanks hendrickson33Read full review
I HATE to give BAD REVIEWS but I kept being prompted to review this LG VX3100A Alltel Phone. I liked the small size of the phone and that is about it. It does have a solid feel not cheap or flimsy. It was great for the day when it was new, probably at least 5 year old technology, monochrome screen and tinny sounding ringtones are sort of nostagic in 2009. I bought the phone used for my wife because it seems her phones kept "wanting to drown" by finding WATER or "jumping" out of her hand to the ground to "commit suicide";). The first one sent to me was locked and had to go through 1975 numbers to unlock the four number security code. When it did work it was sporadic losing the signal and going into "roaming mode" when my other phone had a four bar signal. I contacted the seller and he sent me another one but when I turned it on it would just keep "rebooting and rebooting over and over again" it was completely useless. No, I would not buy this model of phone again. It was good for the day but not today. I did end up buying my wife a New never opened LG phone from Ebay to replace this one and she is very happy. (It was HER idea to buy this LG VX3100 phone in the first place.:))Read full review
I worked for Verizon Wireless during 2 phases of this phone and a refurb phase. This phone got terrible reception. It was staticy and dropped calls continuously. It's not just the network or the seller...sometimes ya just get a bad model of phones. Thus far, I have tested 8 LG phones (VX9800, VX7000, VX6100, VX6000, VX3200, VX3100, VX4500B, VX4500A) and the 3100 was the worst of them all. It's screen loses brightness, it is EXTREMELY sensitive to moisture and shows "water damage" with even mild condensation when being left in a car overnight..not to mention terrible reception. Before you buy this phone, beware and do not blame the seller or Verizon. The blame is with LG for releasing a P!55 poor product.
Ok so its not ever going to win awards for being the flashiest phone alive. Its a phone not a statement. To be honest its was the first phone I ever got as a wireless customer. Worked perfect for over 2 years then met its fate when I lost it on a Hiking trip. I have 5 lines in the family plan and have since added 2 more of these phones as backup phones and one still has as Primary since not even the pool was able to kill her phone (so thats 3 I own total cost for all 3 just over $50 inc shipping. They are dependable and last forever. put one in a drawer til another phone breaks, gets lost, gets stolen, gets melted in a burning car or any other disaster that can happen when teens or adults have phones. Pull it re activate it and until the new phone is bought or fixed or contract expires. They are that dependable and cheap. Accessories are plentiful as well. I have never experienced the water issue others have seen, Maybe its a climate thing? I don't know I live in New England. I try never to leave the phone to charge overnight in the car as a rule, I think doing this all the time will eventually bite any phone in its backside. Just to much heat changes and humidity in a sealed car. Once in a while sure, but every day for a long period of time... Its called a home charger, its cheap and it works.Read full review
Very small Verizon phone that is handy to carry. It's size is the main value of this phone. They are very rare in NIB condition these days. I bought this one as a companion to my other VX3100 on my new 2-line Verizon service. I wanted to keep all the peripherals the same for both phones (ie: home and car chargers). The reception is not as good as the very old large Verizon phones, and weak signals sometimes occur; especially deep inside large buildings. However, as compared with other phones, this Verizon phone gets reception when others do not. I do not know if this is related to the phone, or to the service provider (Verizon), or both, as I have never used any provider other than Verizon. If you need a very small, lightweight phone, this is as good as it gets, and since it is an out-of-date model that no longer is offered for sale by Verizon, you can get them cheap. But I would buy one that is NIB or as close to it as possible. I have found that used phones, generally, are used more heavily than advertised.Read full review
