Works with Raspbery Pi
I used the module to add a IR detector for the lirc package to a Raspberry Pi. It works fine, after finding a spec sheet online to use the right wiring to attach it to the GPIO pins of my Rpi. I attached it to 3.3V, GPIO18 and ground.

Resisters, transmitters oh my, a little too nerdy for me. No instructions.
Was looking for a IR receiver to replace the bad one on my Bose radio. It looked like a simple solder job fix. I tried both receivers and neither one worked with the Bose remote. Not sure if I need to replace the transmitter as well? No instructions come with the set. Add in the resistors to the mix and I'm really in over my head. Not sure where or how to look for this information on the Internet. I'm little disappointed. Sensor Functionality
Great for use with existing IR remote control units since the sensor requires the 38KHz IR source to be pulsed. If you want a sensor that gives you a digital output that is based on just the presence/non-presence of the 38KHz IR light suggest you get the TSSP4038.
