    Cisco ws-c3560-24ps-s (trailing edge cisco enterprise equipment)

    What do you look for when purchasing, budget friendly, enterprise network equipment? Here are some things to consider... Do you really need gigabit speed to your end users or would a gigabit core be sufficient. If you are trying to implement a segmented network with telephones and data sharing the same physical wire, a 100Mbps connection to each end user will work fine. This switch provides 24 10/100Mbps PoE ports to power your phones, access points, cameras and other devices up to 15.4 watts. PoE class 1,2,3 and 0 (with manual config). The switch has two 1 Gbps sfp ports for linking back to your core switch with copper or fiber. And best of all, you get the QoS features required to guarantee your users crystal clear phone calls. This switch has it all and is best of class in my book.

    Great Price

    I spend a lot for 'New' units. These used ones are a good way to save money. However, remember they do have a recommended replacement time. If you are working with an important network it's not a good idea to use old equipment. The ones being sold are usually from a dismantled network or one that had reached it's maximum recommended time in service and was being upgraded for dependable service. Working units, yes. Time left in service ? Does it matter, not always. Losing a port or two, drop in.data quality, or a noisy fan may not matter in a small, lightly used network.

    Very good product. It works as advertised.

    I wanted a Power over Ethernet switch to use on IP phones. This one works like a charm and it has all the QoS commands that i need to customize cos values. No need to spend money on 48 ports for a home lab. Save money and buy a smaller switch.
