Good starting set for a beginner

This is a rare good item. I'f you are training or just interested in the craft these are great , not spring steel, you'll want those eventually. These will work small to standard size tumblers just fine, doubles. . That still requires a feel. They will bend but since you are aware they aren't spring steel you'll be gentle right? Great set for the price - get MORE than what you pay for
The set comes with a TON of picks. The tensioners are of great quality. So much so that, although this was a gift, I swapped one of my wiper tensioners for one from this kit. The price is a steal. I'd pay the same for half the picks, and without the clear lock. Considering a single Peterson pick is around $8, these picks are super-affordable. Minor caveats: The picks themselves are a bit sharp, so expect to spend a few minutes with some sandpaper to smooth over the edges a bit. Also, I was disappointed to find no wave rake (AKA snake rake) in the kit. That's my go-to rake when first approaching a lock. I see no reason to pass this kit up if you're looking for a starter kit or expand your current kit.
