BOOK SHOWS CONCISE INFORMATION ON EACH BIRD FROM PHOTOS TO SHORT DESCRIPTIONS / TOPICS ON HABITAT, NESTING, SONG/CALLING, TO THEIR PREFERRED MEAL. BOOK IS SUBSTANTIAL. AN ERROR FOUND IS THE DESCRIPTION OF CARDINAL. THIS BOOK DIPICTS ONLY ONE AND IT IS NOT CORRECT. NORTHERN CARDINAL IS RED WITH GREY ON WINGS, HEAD, AND TAIL. DEPICTION OF THE NORTHERN FEMALE IS CORRECT. THERE IS A VERMILLION CARDINAL, OF WHICH THE PICTURE IN THIS BOOK SHOWS ACTUAL COLORING, ALL BRIGHT RED. IT'S FEMALE IS WHITER COLOR OF APPLE FLESH WHITE WITH HUES OF YELLOW & LIME GREEN. ALSO, THIS BOOK'S DEPICTION OF THE ORCHARD ORIOLE IS DIFFERENT THAN THOSE IN OTHER BOOKS. THAT SAID, OF THE NORTHERN ORIOLE, I APPLAUD THE AUTHOR FOR THE BEGINNING INFORMATION ON THE NORTHERN ORIOLE REGARDING IT'S NAME BEING USED FOR SPORTS TEAMS. THERE IS NO BALTIMORE ORIOLE BIRD.
