About this product

Product Information

The Neumann TLM 67 condenser cable professional microphone is a versatile piece of equipment suitable for many uses, such as vocal, orchestral, and individual instruments. Enhance the sound of your music with its numerous features, including a high-pass filter, pre-attenuation switch, as well as three switchable directional modes: cardioid, figure-8, and omnidirectional. This mic features a high-pass filter that compensates for the proximity effect and reduces noise and rumble from handling, giving it that clear professional studio recording sound. The Neumann TLM 67 multi-pattern microphone is able to handle high sound pressure levels due to its transformer-less design, giving you exactly the sound you intend. This pearl gray and nickel microphone has a unique design that incorporates founder Georg Neumann’s 3D emblem to celebrate the company’s 80th anniversary. This is a professional quality cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 large-diaphragm microphone suitable for studio recording. The Neumann TLM 67 microphone is based on the Neumann U 67, and similarly to that model it also incorporates the K 67 capsule. Its circuit design closely reproduces the audio characteristics of the U 67, but without the use of tubes. These elite Neumann microphones have been present at some of music history’s most legendary recording sessions. This unit has three switchable directional characteristics, a high-pass filter that allows detailed adjustments to be made depending on the recording situation, as well as a selectable 10 dB pre-attenuation switch. Its versatility makes this mic suitable for a wide range of applications, in addition to its main role for vocal use, including both as a main microphone and spot microphone for orchestral recordings. The Neumann TLM 67 microphone is addressed from the side. Its elastically mounted double-diaphragm capsule is enclosed by a large wire-mesh grille. A switch below the grille allows users to select directional characteristics, and the selected setting is shown by a symbol in a window above the switch. This model features an electronic circuit, instead of a conventional output transformer, and this circuit effectively suppresses interference signals affecting the balanced modulation line, by ensuring good common-mode rejection. The Neumann TLM 67 microphone can operate distortion-free, at sound pressure levels of up to 105dB, and has a dynamic range of 94dB, without using the pre-attenuation switch. The mic’s pre-attenuation switch is on the back and can be used to reduce its transmission levels by around 10dB. This feature should be used only when there is an overloading risk due to very high sound-pressure levels. This switch doesn’t increase the dynamic range, but rather shifts it to higher sound pressure levels by 10dB. There is also a switch on the back that changes the cutoff frequency to suppress the effects of wind noise and impact sound, as well as compensate for the proximity effect. This model has a frequency response of 20Hz-20KHz, an output impedance of 50 ohms, a signal to noise ratio of 83dB max, and weighs in at 1.08 pounds.
