2018 Archives Ohtani Still a Worthwhile Investment
This particular card of the baseball superstar is still slightly undervalued compared to some other Topps rookie cards of Ohtani. The sub-brand Archives; the 1959 Topps inspired design of the card; and the fact Ohtani is displayed in a pitching pose each combine to tamp down slightly collector enthusiasm for this particular card. That slight deflation in value should not last long; additionally given Ohtani's extraordinary skill level, there is a strong possibility all non-autographed Ohtani rookie cards are undervalued at current prices compared to where they may be in twelve months.
This particular card was graded; I'm kind of neutral about buying graded examples of base cards from another individual, given the flood of forged/non-genuine graded card holders that currently plague the collecting 'hobby'. This card seemed to look OK once received, but it is a high wire act purchasing graded cards on-line these days-not being able to hold and see the graded card.
