The Heil PR-40 is a wonderfully built, solid, smooth-sounding microphone. The shock mount gives a great deal of flexibility in mounting arrangements by providing the necessary shock isolation which obviates the need for a low shelf filter to roll off desk bumps and routine handling noise. As a result, the full spectrum of sound can easily be reproduced. Fantastic package! Amazing sound from this mic.
The Heil PR40 is incredibly detailed, well rounded and crisp. It really reproduces the full width of the voice very well; especially for pod-casting. Some great things is that it does not require Phantom power and it's end firing; meaning it picks up much less noise than other mic. The stand is quality is fair and works quite well although it is a bit tough to reposition sometimes; do wish it was a touch smoother. The cable comes tucked into the stand which is nice. This is my second buy on the Heil pr 40 microphone. I just love the way it sounds on my YAESU Ft-2000D HF Transciever. Gives you that low base natural sound like those high price broadcasting microphone.
