Most complete Cookbook I've owned
My girlfriend, then wife, then ex-wife had this cookbook in the early 1980's and I found it to be the most complete of all of the 15 or so cookbooks I owned. With the illustrations and exact instructions, it made following any of the recipes easy and successful. My wife kept her copy and when I regained my passion for the culinary arts, (I used to own a restaurant) I was able to find it on EBay and purchase several copies. I gave them out to friends that attend my pot-luck parties and they were thrilled! I have since ordered a few extra copies to give to future friends. I believe this book is a must for every kitchen. Totally different Cover
The book seemed to have the recipes that I was after but I wanted to replace my old existing Good Housekeeping Illustrated book that was handed down from mom with one in better condition. Excellent Cookbook
This cookbook actually came with its original dust jacket. It is in excellent condition, and that is saying a lot because it is over 30 years old. This cookbook was given to me over 30 years ago, and I still refer to it for the right way to prepare food. This one I gave to my 13 year old granddaughter. Perfect Gift for a New Cook!
I bought 2 of these as gifts for my 20-something nieces, as it gives step-by-step instructions on many of the recipes. It's just a nice educational tool on the basics, especially for those just learning to cook. I used this myself (& still do), and have been able to add my own flair to several of the recipes - except the raspberry ribbon pie, which is a home run, without any adjustments! Great cook book and easy to follow
When I was a kid growing up in the 80s, this was the cook book we had. I have many good memories of baking Christmas goodies. When I seen it on Ebay I had to have it.
