Nice compact sander for short duration small projects.
Nice compact little sander, although it's battery powered it can handle most short duration projects. I used a 4 amp hour battery and smoothed out the bottom of a cast iron pan restoration. The battery lasted about 20-30 mins. of continuous use along with and additional 4 amp hour battery for another 20-30 min. Fortunately I have a cordless set with four 4AH batteries. Not easy to handle.
Not easy to handle. I have tried 2 of these just to make sure it wasn't a bearing issue. This sander is hard to control, tends to jump, grab and hop. I have the corded Ridgid 5inch and it has worked great, replaced bearings frequently but easy to handle. Design and Power
The Ridgid orbital sander for use with their 18v batteries is designed well and has shown to be durable so far. The grip is a little hefty (to make room to attach the battery) so one’s hand might tire after prolonged use. A worthy trade off for the portability and versatility that comes with cordless. Very Powerful Sander by Ridgid
This sander performs well for projects like wooden cabinets and cabinet doors. Has the adequate RPMs to get the work done quickly. You will go through a lot of sanding paper so be sure to have enough in stock to complete your do it yourself project. The handle (top portion) is difficult to palm at times, but not a problem.
