I remember this movie from my childhood. I think I was 7 or 8 years old in 1970, when I saw it. It is a 1969 Japanese production with very impressive special effects for that time, although all made with mock ups and models. The quality of the images and colors are very good. Now, in the age of computerized special effects, we must forgive some aspects of the scenes. I think it was a little bit inspired in "The Lost Horizon" having the Shagrila replaced by Latitude Zero underwater city, where scientists, artists and special people can live for many hundred years all looking young and perfectly healthy. For me was a travel to my childhood... I could revisit that no longer existing young boy, fascinated by ships and submarines. I recommend it, specially considering the very good price, around 11 US dollars. I would have paid a lot more for this movie.Read full review
Hokey monsters a very light plot and some named actors make this a fun if not too deep movie to watch. You have to be willing to suspend belief for some time and, particularly toward the end, realize that these folks clearly had a very limited budget. Still, I enjoyed it and while pricey to buy, I'm glad I got a chance to see the movie.

If you're a fan of the kaiju films of Toho Studios, then the names ishiro Honda, Eiji Tsubaraya and Akira Ifukuba need no introduction. They all contributed to THIS film, which also stars Joseph Cotton, Caesar Romero and Richard Jaeckel and a bunch of familiar faces from kaiju movies past. And the lovely Linda Haynes as an MD with plastic clothes, a plunging neckline and go-go boots. This is one crazy film... garish, exploitative and goofy in the extreme. The disks provide the English language version and another with dubbed Japanese dialogue (the film was shot in English). Good sound, image, etc. Buy with confidence

I always loved these Japanese sci-fi movie. The models (land and mechanical) pulled me in as a kid and it still does. There is always a plus when the movie goes off the deep end. Nice!
