      A Great, Economical Upgrade

      I used the AMD A10-5700 to replace an AMD A4-5300 processor in a computer that I built about 5 years ago. The quad core processor offers a speed gain of about 2x over the A4. Problems making this upgrade we that previous chip I purchased had bent pins and would not slide into teh socket and lock down. This processor was packaged properly, so it was not damaged in shipping and it arrived with straight pine. It was a simple operation to install, fix some thermal paste and clip on the heat sink. The processor change was noticed by the BIOS on initial boot-up and worked just fine. Now that this processor is a few years old, the economics of a CPU (APU) upgrade are justified for overall performance improvement.

      Packaging requires pins not become bent.

      Item arrived with bent pins due to poor packaging. Pins were not inserted into low resistance foam. or otherwise secured. Bubble wrap is not low resistance nor insert able. I am preparing a pin straighten setup to hold chip securely during process. Wish me luck.
