Happy Happy Happy , great little saw

Very high quality like you would expect from makita. The 18v batteries used in pair give it 36v of power. So I can use batteries on other makita tools. Clean no gas or oil to mix, much more quiet than a gas saw, light in weight. Great limb saw. Would highly recommend. Alan in Kansas

  • Excellent saw. Well designed. Performs Flawlessly.

Hey, read all the reviews about this saw. I was a bit worried about battery longevity and ergonomics. Now, after using it extensively on two large, 50' tall, downed Australian Pine trees, I find that it's an excellent, well-made saw. The saw cuts very fast (even on very dense wood). The saw is lighter than my (crappy) Husqvarna and better balanced. Cutting the trunks was very rapid even through the largest diameters that approached the length of the bar (14"). One drawback (at least on the Aus. Pine) was that the chips were so fine they tended to build-up in the sprocket area and I found I had to clean that area after several cuts. I won't pretend to tell you that you can cut all day on one battery charge, but I was able to cut both tree trunks into 2' lengths before the battery ...

  • It comes with the wrong voltage dual charger for Australia

Unfortunately only a 120 V dual charger with a US style 2 pin plug was supplied. As the charger has no 110/220 V switch the electronics require modification which no doubt would void the warrantee. The other option is to use a step down transformer. It also requires an Australian style 2 pin plug. The unit which comes with two 5Ah batteries itself is excellent.

  • Great little saw, has some minor issues!!!

I bought this saw because every time I wanted to cut some limbs or a few trees the old gas saw wouldn't start. As I approach 80, I don't have the patience and strength to keep pulling on the rope to start it even after it had been to the shop. The saw arrived and I assembled it, charged the batteries, and like a kid at Christmas, began to cut some wood. After going through a couple of battery charges, the chain began to come off even with correct tension. Then I noticed the drive part of the chain was wearing incorrectly and wouldn't stay on at all. After ordering additional Oregon chains, I continued to have problems and noticed the end of the bar had separated which was probably the original problem. Ordered an Oregon bar, reassembled the saw and have not had problems since. The ...

  • Makita battery saw

Saw has really nice power and if you let it pull thru the work and don’t force it thru, it will cut for quite awhile. Keep the chain razor sharp and it’s more than amazing
