Words fail me in describing the type of comfort this pad affords. I am subject to heat flashes and usually like to avoid heat. But this far infrared type of ray is so comforting deep in the tissues that I can't get enough of it. To my way of thinking, far infrared is the way to go for anything that ails one. I sleep with it on a med setting and wake up feeling pretty good and the thing is, I normally have a lot of swelling in my hands but not with this. Also I use it on my face and it seems to heal up any kind of break out or lesion. Next, an infrared sauna! Deo Gratias for far infrared!

No Auto Shut Off
This mat is very cold to start with but can get and stay very hot! It is infrared so it is not to be used unless you understand what infrared does and how it works. It is not just to warm you. I love the mat it is very well made. The drawback and reason I cannot recommend it is that it does not automatically shut off; there is no timer. This equipment can cause irreparable damage to a person if they are not constantly aware of the continuous infrared. Very dangerous. Even using it on another person with a timer can be a hazard if one is not right there to turn it off.

I been using just a standard heating pad for back issues and changed over to this IR type. This works great ! I use it after dancing or hard yard work and it really helps. I recommend this over a standard type pad. This does cost more but is well worth it.

It works great and does have timer.
I bought it for my wife for her back pain and after few days of using, she feel a lot better. The back pain is almost gone. Based on my research, Jade, when heated, it produces FIR which carries negatives ions, that is the characteristic of Jade. When the special FIR heat passes through the Jade stones, it allows the heat (negatives ions) to penetrate 2-3 inches beneath the skin, getting deep into your muscles, joints and organs. It increases your blood circulation, which leads directly to pain relief and healing. Also, there is timer: one is for 6 hours and the other for 12 hours.
