I got this Earth Science book because I needed it for a geology class. So far it's been pretty helpful. It is written clearly and fairly straight forward. It also has an inclusive summary at the end of every chapter and some helpful questions to check your understanding of the reading. It also has some very beautiful pictures. I have never read any other geology book, but this book seems pretty similar in comparison to other science textbooks.
I am not much of a science person, but the book is a good source of much information. It isn't terribly heavy and I am using for a class. It helps to suppliment what I don't understand/help clarify about which the instructor clarifies. The condition I purchased it was fine. See no reason not to buy it. Seems likea common book needed amongst many college students across the states, so selling it back should not be an issue. Nothing negative to say, really.
The bookstore recommended the new version of this book which had very minimal changes. I was $163. I purchased this and found that the prof had the same book. He said that most professors don't upgrade, only the bookstore does to make more money. This book was an easy read. The companion website helps a lot too.
It came in excellent condition and was a required text for my class. The class is a physical science class. The graphics in the book help to classify the objects of learning in a way that is visually aiding. Graphs, tables and pictures are often used in the book to help in understanding the material to the greatest extent.
Great product, timely shipment! Very satisfied! Just as described - great condition for a used book! Not much more to say!
