I had my 2011 f150 differential serviced & after I noticed a binding noise coming from the rear of the truck. I ask friends and all said certain limited slip Diff's needed a additive added to the standard as well. I googled this and found that the noise was actually called Hypoid Gear Noise, where vibrations created by the meshing action of bevel and hypoid gears operating in a drive system often result in gear noise. Which lead to the addition of the friction modifier. I added the Ford Motorcraft OEM XL3 Friction Modifier Additive (hence, add) for limited slip diff's. No more noise.

I have 2010 Ford F150. the rear differential has been chattering when going on a curve or turning for about 3 years now. I tried many other much more expensive products, but using 2 of this did the trick and now don't need to replace the clutch packs in rear differential Thank you Motorcraft for an awesome product!!!!

Must add this for ford mustang. If not, you will hear squeezing noises.
