Are you a frequent channel changer?
I live apprx 60 mi. SW of Chicago. When fine tuning the dial on the Terk antenna, I can get better reception on some stations than with my previous antenna. Because I am a constant channel changer with my Sony's remote control, constant re-tuning of the Terk antenna is needed for just about every frequency selected which is kind of a hassle. As a result I am spending more time listening to the FM band now. I would recommend Terk's to anyone that would like to get better reception on a specific AM frequency and leave the dial set there.I live apprx 60 mi. SW of Chicago. not a DX antenna
This is probably a great antenna for a stereo or tabletop with a ferrite bar am antenna for local stations. but it isnt the best for DXing or distant stations. I tried indoors and it is susceptible to interference from my other gear, so I moved it outside and fabricated a shielded feed line for it to connect to my SDR, still average or less than stellar results. The tuning control DOES work I could see the increase in noise and signal floor when I hit the frequency my SDR was tuned to. AM Advantage for long distance AM Reception
What places this product in the”good value” category comes from the value of enhanced reception it provides to those of us who like to listen to old time radio programs in the evening. The AM Advantage when properly “tuned” can make a weak long distance AM station intelligible.

It Really Works ...
AM reception with my Marantz 2285 receiver was no more than average until I got the Terk ADVANTAGE. Previously, reception of anything but the local stations was pretty much hopeless since my Man Cave is located below ground in the basement. Installation took less than five minutes and the first station I heard was a Chicago Blackhawks hockey game, and I live in Pittsburgh. It's a treat going up and down the AM dail, just to hear what other faraway stations I can pull in. I highly recommend the Terk ADVANTAGE.AM reception with my Marantz 2285 receiver was no more than average until I got the Terk ADVANTAGE. Terk am antenna
Does not help reception at all. Product is located 40 mi from a local station and 100 mi from Houston station. Both stations come in well without antenna. After dark when stations power down, using antenna is no help. I don't care about price. I want something that works. I listen to lots of sports and these stations.
