Can be installed and fully configured do-it-yourself (DIY) but not easy. Install instructions are not written for homeowner and thus require some HVAC furnace and compressor wiring knowledge. Assume a full day to remove old Harmony II and install Harmony III and just build into planning that heat or AC might not work after Harmony III installed and a good HVAC service tech visit required. Thus allow 3+ days for from start to finish. To install may require: cutting some drywall; patching drywall; adding length to various thermostat or other wires; labeling all cables, wires; perhaps swapping out Harmony control board 24VAC transformer and ensure correct phasing with furnace 24VAC transformer; checking thermostat wiring or programming, checking and adjusting furnace control board. Estimate $2000 to pay a tech to replace Harmony III with Harmony III and get it working.Read full review
