This was my first ergo keyboard. I really liked the slope of keys - pretty comfortable. I think it would be perfect for someone who's used to "conventional" touch typing (i.e. positioning your fingers where they're actually supposed to go). Unfortunately that isnt me - my typing style has evolved over years of hanging out in chat rooms etc. I've never actually taken a typing class. As a result, my hands fly pretty much all over the keyboard, and the keys in the center of the board (like the t, g, v keys) are pretty much a free-for-all in terms of which hand hits it. I've gotten used to hitting the "T" key with my right hand half the time. My main beef with this keyboard is that it has the "t" key grouped on the left side of the keyboard - i assume to be used by the left hand. Which I assume is the correct way to do it. I just couldnt get this to work for me -- kept making typos when my right hand tried to find the key (and failed). Ended up spending more time correcting my emails than actually typing them in the first place. I'm pretty sure that no one else will have this problem though. Other than my personal inability to type, its great. I wish the arrow keys would be be a bit bigger, though. Other than that - its a very comfortable keyboard.Read full review
This particular keyboard is getting harder to find w/o paying ridiculous prices. This one was affordable for me. Aside from the creative shipping wrapping Ü it arrived safely. The keys were a bit more age discolored than I'd have liked, but that's just my quirkiness.

Love this keyboard. Originally used it years ago and when I wore it out I ordered the newer version, the 4000 (the black keyboard). Although I loved the added extras that came with the 4000, like the favorites keys and the instant web access button, etc., I had problems with the space bar being very hard to hit causing me to develop some arthritis in my thumb. Also, after using it for a couple of years, the letters actually rubbed off of the keys so that you could no longer see them. This is not a problem for me since I type so much that I don't need to see the letters, but others who tried to use my keyboard could not. Therefore, I went back to the Elite which I love!
This keyboard was not new, and not advertised as such. We have an identical keyboard that I put on my wife's PC, and have suffered for several years with other keyboards that just did not fill the bill. I tired to purchase another keyboard but could not find new, so turned to E Bay and found this used one, in good condition. I am so happy with the keyboard. Saves a ton of time!!

Its the only keyboard that I am comfortable using. I've had two before this one. The key clicking is practically silent. It is the perfect configuration to save the wrists from getting carpal tunnel. Too many of the newer kboards are replete with extraneous keys that most people don't need. I'm sorry the Microsoft Elite was discontinued by Microsoft.
