    Satisfying conclusion to the trilogy

    The series finale explains many of the mysteries left unresolved in the first two books. Carrying on a tradition of scholarship and adventure Nathaniel is now well involved in the highest levels of the British Government. His favorite Djinn has not been dismissed for several years, and as a result weakens by the day. Kitty has reinvented herself so that she can study the practice of magic and has developed some skill with the help of a rogue magician. The back story of Ptolemy suggests that enslavement of magical creatures need not be the only way to utilize their powers. The final conclusion was a surprise to this reader...well worth the wait. If you liked the Keys to the Kingdom, Golden Compass and Harry Potter you will like this series.

    3rd and Final Installment of BARTIMAEUS TRILOGY

    Bartimaeus, the droll, smart-mouthed irreverent djinni is being kept in this world by Nathaniel, the protagonist, too long. Long enough to make Bartimaeus weaker and less effective. In this final book of the trilogy the two push their relationship to the limit as Nathaniel, as his master, uses his control of the djinni to keep his hold on power as part of the group of magicians who now control the British government. Fantastical magical battles between humans, magicians and beings from the Other Place filled with imagination and detail will satisfy fans of this genre. The story expands the connection between Nathaniel and Kitty, a major player in the underground resistance movement. Readers will also be entertained, as in the first 2 books, by Bartimaeus' many humorous references ...
