After having my main camera break down on me, I bought this as a back-up camera for my Dimage Z-3. On the good side, this takes really good pictures in my opinion. It's pretty easy to use too. On the bad side, it seems to take a while to rejuvenate after taking a photo; you have to wait to take another. The battery cover looks a little flimsy. The camera came without the flash card and other attachments, and those items were more costly than I had anticipated. However, it works well. If I had it do to over, I would buy another DiMage Z-3 instead of this camera, because I got almost as much invested by the time I was done.
If you enjoy working with an older, heavy, quality digital camera this one is for you. It has a beautiful Minolta lens which won't disappoint you. And it actually feels like you are holding a real camera. This model is only 4 megs but they work. There are only two problems with this unit. One is the use of a Compact Flash memory card. You will have to find some of those on e-bay or find a CF to SD card adapter. Second is battery drainage. You will need 4 rechargeable AA's with a minimum 2500 mh rating. Better have an extra set if your shooting schedule is long. Don't even try regular AA's. They will be nearly dead after 20 minutes of continuous use. Otherwise a fun camera.

You really can't use AA batterys they don't hold a charge. I have been using rechargable batterys and they do last a little longer.
The Camera works great and the pictures are excellent. I couldn't ask for more. I eapecially like the remote control for taking pictures of myself with a group of friends or even special shots of myself .
