Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life expands on the farm simulation aspects of its predecessors by having players develop a "life" through marriage and raising a family. Farming in this GameCube version is further enhanced by having more animals to care for, more crops to harvest, and an option for players to create hybrid vegetables by combining the seeds of two different types. As in earlier titles in Natsume's Harvest Moon series, players are not confined to a rigid storyline or plot while advancing through the game. Players are free to do whatever they want in the effort to become successful in both business and in life. <br><br>This PS2 "Special Edition" of A Wonderful Life adds to the GameCube original by allowing players to earn the chance to play as either a boy or a girl, and by providing more potential spouses for courtship. It also allows players to continue to work and develop their farms, even after they've completed the main campaign.

Pictures and description were accurate, price was very reasonable, shipping time was prompt, however there was no kind of internal padding inside the disc case to make sure the disc wouldn't come loose during shipping, my disc did come loose in the case during shipping causing some additional light damage that was not shown in the pictures however when I went to test the disc it still works just fine. Not really a big deal at the end of the day. 8/10 would recommend anyone buy from this seller.

Develop a well rounded character, and enjoy everything it has to offer. The Special Edition is the only version that lets you go into a "heaven" mode.
I have played HM:AWL Special Edition. It's hard to "win" in HM:AWL. By "win" I mean to raise your child to become a farmer or rancher. The game is not just about this. AWL means a wonderful life so to experience a well rounded life, you have to be a good parent, raise happy animals, experiment with hybrid crops, fish often, and learn what it takes to raise a happy child. Not the best installment, but definitely FUN!
I enjoyed "Save the Homeland" edition more. I was hoping this would be just the same, but with more perks, like getting married, having children and more interactions with the village. However, it's just not what I expected. Game time is slow (not such a big deal) and the interactions are not as cool as the description explains. I feel that Save the Homeland had better side games as well. this one has many, but they are mediocre compared to the other one I played. On the othre hand, I haven;t played every Harvest Moon game that has come out, and I may have not played it correctly.I enjoyed "Save the Homeland" edition more. I just ordered this less than a week ago, it’s my fifth copy of the game. (The reason I have 5 is GameCube version Girl Version My original PS2 Version from childhood but it’s in bad shape -PS3 edition Nonetheless, I am still very excited to receive this copy in the mail. The game is the best farm sim, or even harvest moon game. I like this one because the 3D abilities exceed most other harvest moon games. It also has great depth of character. One thing I think is important to mention for anyone interested in harvest moon games, IT IS NOT CALLED HARVEST MOON ANYMORE. Due to some licensing issues, the publishers of the game from 1996-2014 own the rights to the name, and when the actual makers of the original harvest moon games decided to start publishing for themselves, they were ... In japan, Story of Seasons and harvest moon (pre-2014 era) are all named the same thing, “bokujo monogatari”. Overall the series is great.

Look elsewhere for your Harvest Moon needs.
I am a Harvest Moon fan, so I was obligated to buy Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life -Special Edition- for the PS2. I was almost immediately upset by the way the game compared to other games in the series. CONS: 1. Camera Angle - You cannot zoom in or out. In order to angle the camera in any way you must go into first person view. Previous games had the same flaw so its unfortunate they haven't added a zoom in/out feature. 2. Load Times - Loading in this game is terrible. In order to bring up simple things such as the overhead map you must wait 3 to 5 seconds. Characters warp into view after load screen which is unfortunate considering that amount of time you already had to wait during loading. I have heard that the Gamecube version does not have these issues. 3. At midnight ... I am a Harvest Moon fan, so I was obligated to buy Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life -Special Edition- for the PS2. As of right now I would score the game a 2 out of 5

This is the best next to the original Harvest Moon that was for PS1. This is the same theme, meaning you're working a farm and trying later to marry and such. Although when night comes its very hard to see the things around you which is kinda a down. That and the fact that the game has so many speaking parts and still no audio for speech, but that's all of the Harvest Moon games. I think that they need to upgrade like Final Fantasy X and X-2 did. Farming is alot hard too. There no organized way to get things like seeds in the same place.This is the best next to the original Harvest Moon that was for PS1.
