I remember playing this when I was a kid on PC. It was fun but I remember it being WORSE than this. There's a better smoothness to the movement but I bought it because I collect games and this was a blast from the past. Definitely put your rose colored glasses on for Color Dreams games.

This is an unlicensed game for the NES (Nintendo) made by the company Color Dreams. They later became Bunch Games and then later Wisdom Tree, releasing all the bible games you see for the NES. Captain Comic is one of the better Color Dreams games for the NES, but sadly most of the titles from this company are not good at all. To be complete this game should come with a Grey cardboard/paper dust sleeve, different from all of the other light blue sleeves made by this company.
Captain Comic was made by Color Dreams for use on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Perhaps the best thing about it is the fact that it is a blue cart. Here are the reasons. Gameplay The first thing that comes to mind when I think about this games gameplay is bad. What you do is go along on you merry way and shoot weird little creatures that should not be in a video game. Yeah, that seems easy and all, but here's the catch. You can not duck or kneel which makes shooting those little green worms that scurry along the screen impossible. In all seriousness, hitting them is impossible. Another bad thing is that when you start off you can't even shoot your gun-like thing, leaving you to be bashed by the evil creatures that move much too fast. When you finally are able to shoot your gun, you will soon notice that it does not shoot fast enough to allow you to even kill half of the creatures at a time. Eventually, you'll end up not caring AT ALL about getting hit and just bowl through the enemies screaming ''What!''. Overall, the gameplay from the start is bad and I can't give you a complete synopsis because I haven't uprooted the courage to play it for any length of time. Story Form what I can make out, you are some sort of space astronaut-type person and your mission is to go out and annihilate all opposition. Yeah, it's the same old thing. I'll give a ''blah'' to this part. Sound Effects/Music A shoot 'em up RPG like game with classical music? Huh? Let me tell you, if it is classical music, it sounds horrible. This aspect alone, makes me want to throw this game in the trash where it belongs. I don't want to completely bash the music area, so I'll stop here, although you should understand where I'm coming from. Graphics Perhaps the best part of the game. Things actually look pretty decent and aren't too hard to distinguish from each other. Not to much to complain about here, I just don't think eye candy makes the game. Obviously, the developers thought so, which was a BIG mistake. Replay Value You won't find me playing this game too often at all. It just doesn't have what I call quality. Lacking in good controls and the ability to actually kill some enemies, just makes me not want to play this game. You shouldn't either. Summary All in all, just walk away. Just walk away, and you will be spared the confusion and disgust of this game. Just walk away, and I guarantee you, it's for the best. Buy it only because it's a Color Dreams cart and it's blue. There really is no other reason. I wanted this game to be good, but sadly, it fell short of the goal line.Read full review
I really wasn't expecting a good game since it was a "color dreams" game but this game was actually fun I mean at first you may end up dying abit more but as you play and play it sort of grows on you. It's a side scrolling shoot em' up type of game and has alot of nice graphics for an unlicensed game but overall it's a nice change from the low quality of the color dreams games
Great
