Overall an excellent camera for someone who likes high tech but doesn't necessarily have too much tech know-how. The draw-backs are few, so I shall gets those out of the way now: it's fairly heavy to carry around in a handbag, though not impossible, and the zoom has to be set before you are 'filmimg' and cannot then be adjusted. It's a dream to use for someone who knows little about focal lengths, light adjustments or even the difference between single lens reflex and a box brownie. It does, however, take high spec pics and good quality 'film'/videos. I've yet to work out how to take pictures in very low light - the flash pictures themselves come out well, but the image on the screen is so dark I found it impossible to see what I was taking. I've got a few at a recent pub gig with cut off heads or the subjects almost out of shot. There are enough settings on the dial to please anyone technically minded and a few very useful ones that do the job for those less descerning - bit like folks who use two settings on their washing-machine - it works well enough, so who's complaining. The camera takes a large memory card, so there is no need to make too many changes, unless you are taking long video coverage - this does eat up the memory quickly. I love that you can use a standard memory card, though this is true of even the most basic digital camera these days. The cable to upload of a PC also works on an iMac so no need to make costly changes or be inconvienced there -no need for any software to be uploaded. I found it very easy to upload pictures to iPhoto and make the necessary changes to them there. I've never found it so easy before to do this, but then I've been working with very low spec cameras previously. I hope, if you decide to go for a camera in this range, that you enjoy it as much as I have. Look out for the minor glitches I'm mentioned, it's likely a more up to date version will have made improvements - I bought mine very good quality second hand, with all of the attachments and software still in the box.Read full review
I bought this camera as an upgrade to my previous Panasonic Lumix DMC FX 12. I had owned the FX 12 for about 3 years ans was very impressed with it. So, on upgrading I decided to stick with the same brand which had proved to be such a reliable and excellent camera. I have found the DMC TZ3 to be a very sturdy and robust camera and very easy to use. I am by no means a photographer, just a point and shoot person..The features and ease of use suit me down to the ground...Idiot proof really which is perfect for me. I would recommend the Lumix to any of my friends. I am very very pleased with it..
After cajoling some friends into buying this camera and testing it fully I finally got the cash together and secured this outstanding camera. The 10X Optical zoom produces some outstanding results when coupled with the image stabilization feature. The wide angle feature also enables some fantastic picture framing. Although i have yet to print any of these 8 Megapixel photos, the on-screen representation is crisp and colour tones are realistic. The large LCD screen is very good and so far i have not had any issues regarding visibility in bright conditions. Finally the numerous scene modes and shooting option offer fine grain tuning to allow getting the best results from any photo opportunity. PS Dont forget to add a high capacity memory card, I got 4GB, which will allow you thousands of photos alongside lots video footage which for me has removed the need for a Videocam the quality is that good!Read full review
Amazing pocket sized camera. Great quality and value for money. Recommended.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
This camera is so easy to use, there are so many different settings for different occasions. I took great pictures both inside and out at my daughters wedding and they all turned out perfectly. It is light weight and has a large lcd screen for ease of use. I am delighted with my purchase and highly recommend it to any one as even my 13 year old granddaughter could use with no problem.
I saw the adverts and looked at local (UK) retail prices, then looked on Ebay - I bought it 50 GBP less than retail (including postage) and I am delighted with it - brilliant screen, 40x total zoom (10x actual and 4x digital), more features than I can ever hope to understand or use. Only one downside - no RAW setting so that the blow-up facility for prints is limited, but overall an excellent bit of kit. To get all this and RAW wil cost at least 4x as much!
Great camera. My third, having lost one and broken one. Whilst a bit chunkier than later models, this camera prduces excellent pictures and is easy to use. Would still buy another one if needed.
even low mega pixel but excellent image quality better than 10 mega pixel and occupy less memory size per pic,and massive 3" screen, easy to use.
found the camera to be of excellent size ,not too small and not too large .excellent picture quality and very easy to use. long useage out of battery before needing charged. overall very good purchase for price. dunken12
Excellent picture quality in a compact camera. I thought the lack of an eye piece would be a problem, but the large, easy to see, 3" LCD screen (even in sunlight)works perfectly. Great camera for the money and features.
