There's lots of tunes that Animals fans will love on this two-CD pack. But... First, the bulky two-CD packaging isn't really necessary. The thin booklet would surely have fit in the front slot of a thin-line double CD package. Second, the sound seems to be a bit flat - like listening to an AM station compared to the better quality sound from an FM station sound. Though it has fewer songs, I'd suggest the 'RETROSPECTIVE' CD for a best hits package. It has the better 'FM station'-like sound. Also, it also includes 'Spill the Wine' while 'SINGLES +' doesn't.
CD is dry, mixed like the early CD's you have to adjust the bass & treble a lot, but never gets there. I have a CD player that is heavy on the bass at low volume, I play this CD on it, sounds good.
Very complete a little rough on the sound but more the real sound of that era.If you want all there hiys then this is it.Liked the R/B songs on first cd.
If you like The Animals, this 2-disc set is a must. I've been thinking for a while about an Animals cd, and I'm glad I waited, because this set is the best I've seen.
