About this product

Product Information

Based on the contemporary "3.5" rule set of the seminal role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics brings swords-and-sorcery combat to Sony's portable. As in classics of the strategy RPG console game style, such as Final Fantasy Tactics or games in the Ogre Battle series, adversarial encounters play out in defined areas broken down by grids, but D&D: Tactics' organic, 3D environments make the battlefields seem less abstract. Characters take turns using their weapons and powers against the enemy until one side has been eliminated.

While the focus of the game is on combat, the single-player storyline offers opportunity for real role-playing. Ethical choices affect character alignment, which influences the story's branching plot development. Both cooperative and competitive multiplayer options are supported, and player characters can be traded wirelessly as well. The number of characters a player can keep is limited only by memory stick storage space, but developing a first-level character into a truly laudable hero will take time and dedication.

    Good gameplay and challenging.

I know from playing it in the past that this is a great game if you like Dungeons & Dragons. I have not had the chance to play much yet as I have been busy. I am replacing a stolen game and look forward to having more time to play after finishing the current game I am working through.

  • Great for D&D fans, not so much for others....

This game has ALOT to offer for fans of D&D. The game follows the 3.5 rule set perfectly. All of your favorite classes and commands are there. The controls lack a little bit due to the hardware limitations of the PSP console, but they're managable. I'd say if you are a D&D hardcore, go out and buy this, if not, hold out for a better Tactics game.

  • Wonderful game for the Role Player in all of us!

I have been looking for this game for a long time, and was pleasantly surprised to find it listed on eBay! The game play is a little complicated but worth the effort if you are a real D&D fanatic like I am. It follows pretty faithfully to the 3.5 rule-set and is a pleasure to play. The only drawback is the plot of the game is slow and it is can get tedious to play each character, each turn. Overall however it is a very good product worth buying.

  • D&D tactics for the PSP

Managed to get this game at a decent price and it didn't disappoint! Being a long time fan of pen and paper D&D this PSP port did a nice job capturing the flavor of the game, character generation is smooth and easy to work with. I wish they had a few more character portraits, but that really isn't a major shortcoming in my opinion. Game is fun, and that is the bottom line, I recommend it for all D&D fans.

  • Overall- very fun but with a few problems

the only issue I have is that you gain experience levels too fast and end up five or more levels higher than the current adventure. the way around this is to only level up to the level recommended at each adventure. the system allows you to do this because you level up one level at a time. THIS GAMES ROCKS THOUGH. It is fun to have a game that has great graphics and to play a turn based game at my leisure. I hate role playing but love the hack and slash aspect of D&D- this come lives up to that aspect of the game. More games of this type should come out for the psp and maybe a fourth edition tactics will soon be coming out.
