WrestleMania: The Arcade Game at the time was seen as a pretty cool concept. WWF needed a fun and fast paced game to get them noticed on all the current gen systems at the time. (SNES, Genesis, Saturn, PS1) This game had an entire 30 min strategy guide video that came with the SNES version when you ordered it directly from WWF at the time when they did the over the phone sales where you had to call them. It was quite compelling trying to figure out all the combinations and converting them to your system of choice. Over the top, small roster, and funny antics were what made this game fun.

I previously owned the Super Nintendo version of this game that I had since it first came out. I liked playing it a lot especially for it's arcade style, awesome moves and frantic combos. I recently decided to purchase the PlayStation version because I've always wanted to try out the PS/Saturn exclusive characters Yokozuna and Bam Bam Bigelow. This version is much much better obviously. Quick loading times, more sound effects, authentic wrestler entrance themes and more. Probably the feature I enjoy the most is the way you can have 4 wrestlers on screen at the same time in this version. The only drawbacks to the game is that the gameplay can be very cheap. You might end up winning some matches only by luck. And when you play two player co-op, you share the same life meter. It can get kind of frustrating sometimes. I don't know why the game had such a bad reputation though, I think it's pretty fun to play. Especially for two players.Read full review
The only bad thing I can say about this game is there aren't enough options, not enough wrestlers and Bret Hart seems to be the toughest one who gets moves off easier than anything which is lame since Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are better than him. The Good? I love this game so much. The fact that with the roll of the keypad and pressing a button Undertaker will slide forward and grab his opponent and choke slam, choke punch and I think choke tombstone. Even the low spectrum wrestler Doink has interesting and fun moves. I especially love when you can grab your opponents legs using Razor Ramone and pick them up and slam them. If you hold the one button and keep pressing the other you can slam them up to 4 times. The commentary is exciting and makes you feel like old school WWF when Vince was a commentator and not egotistical WWF owner. I totally recommend this game to anyone who loves WWF and wrestling games.Read full review
What I love about the game is its simply a classic. Not only does it look and feel just like the original (SNES), But it plays more smooth with a greater velocity. The only thing I dislike about it is the long load time when you play with 2P Wrestlemania when all the opponents come in one after another. Wouldve been better if they had more wrestlers too.(granted they did add two more the the SNES version (which I'm greatful for). I decided to buy the game because i feel it has a great replay value especially when friends come over. (for me not even being a 'big' wrestling fan, the game certainly caught my attention) ~Z~ -the messenger-
Great game worth the wait to purchase and it plays as I remembered it. Definitely a gem in my collection
