About this product

Product Information

Essentials of Clinical Immunology is aimed at clinical medical students and trainee doctors, although it will also appeal to medical professionals seeking a refresher in clinical immunology. The book provides the reader with the core information required to understand diseases with an immunological basis. This new edition of Essentials of Clinical Immunology is fully updated, now in full colour throughout and features: coverage of the underlying pathophysiology and signs and symptoms of disease, as well as the special investigations required and management of patients; emphasis on the clinical aspects with numerous real life case histories used to illustrate key concepts; MCQs at the end of each chapter for self-assessment. Companion website An accompanying website, www.immunologyclinic.com, which includes: Interactive multiple-choice questions for each chapter A database of colour images from the book A bank of case histories References and further reading Reviews from previous edition: "This is a very comprehensive book, and would serve postgraduates well in addition to students embarking on pathology…It is well written by people who know their subject well, and know what information it is important to convey…All the vital areas you might want to read up on are covered more than adequately." MAD, The Student Magazine for Medics & Dentists at Bart's and the London "Where this book shines is in its integrated approach regarding clinical topics. Each body system, along with specialist topics including transplantation and hypersensitivity has its own chapter, covering both common pathologies involving the immune system and the theory behind these…Well written, integrates clinical topics seamlessly. Case histories provide valuable insight, and self-assessment questions included at the end of each chapter." 2nd Opinion, The Magazine of the Scottish Medical Schools "I think that this is the best of the bunch...much more relevant to our course and a sound investment for the future." Sphincter, Liverpool Medical Students' Society Magazine

Reviews of previous editions:"...another book from the outstanding 'Essentials of...' series. The book is well worth the twenty-five pounds asking price...This is a very comprehensive book, and would serve postgraduates well in addition to students embarking on pathologyThe layout is generously spaced, and there are always tables on hand and graphs to make the relevant data more meaningful...It is well written by people who know their subject well, and know what information it is important to conveyAll the vital areas you might want to read up on are covered more than adequately."MAD, The Student Magazine for Medics & Dentists at Bart's and the London"For undergraduate medical students, this book represents a comprehensive stand alone text of clinical immunology. Those preparing for the MRCP examinations should find the case histories especially useful in conjunction with the colour illustrations on the website, while doctors from other specialities will find selected areas helpful. It is an excellent introductory text for trainees in clinical immunology/allergy, however the internet access will be more useful to the specialist."The Royal College of Pathologists Bulletin"Where this book shines is in its integrated approach regarding clinical topics. I thoroughly recommend this book for anyone looking for a clear and up to date introduction to clinical immunology."The Queen's Medical Magazine, Birmingham, "I wish I'd had a copy of Essentials of Clinical Immunology to read before I first set up and ran an immunology laboratory. Written by four consultant clinical immunologists, this text has a practical and clinical emphasis for readers." A few days before my purchase, I asked the seller if they could wait for a specific day to ship the item, but they didn't reply until days after I made the purchase. The reply didn't address what I was asking. I was aware that the duration of the shipping is not under their control; I just wanted to try to time it with a specific shipping date. But the item was offered for a good price, and it arrived in decent shape. The packaging was good.
