Nintendo's savvy professor with the stovepipe hat marks his 3DS debut by heading to the carnival city of Monte d'Or to investigate a masked villain in Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. As always, gamers join the professor and his assistants Emmy and Luke as they explore their surroundings, talk with residents, and solve dozens of logic puzzles. The investigation soon leads them to find a mysterious artifact that may explain why the professor's friend disappeared 18 years earlier.<br><br>Puzzle scenarios are presented on the top screen, with players using their stylus and touch screen to solve puzzles and earn Picarats. Gamers receive the maximum number of Picarats if they find the solution on their first try, but they can also use Hint Coins if they get stuck on any particular puzzle. Miracle Mask also includes a variety of mini-games for those who want to test their wits outside of the main storyline, and gamers can download one new puzzle every day for a year after the game's release.

    Heart-wrenching story!

    Professor Layton and The Miracle Mask is my new favorite game from the series. I absolutely adored it! It is quite slow in the beginning, from chapters one to three, but once you reach the climax of the game you're in for a rollercoaster of emotions! The graphics are wonderful, perhaps not for those who immensely enjoyed Curious Village through Last Specter, but still very good overall. The gameplay is a bit boring, as earlier stated, in the beginning but once again, as you reach chapter five it won't be in vain. Overall, splendid game!

    Only difference is that there isn't plastic wrap!

    Is exactly the same as you would buy it in store. No gameplay/saved files were in the game, and the game works fine. Comes in the original box with original content. Amazing price, too!

    Professor Layton and The Miracle Mask (Nintendo 3DS, 2012)

    I thought the first one was a timeless classic and the best of the series. I have completed all of the Layton games completely. I have enjoyed all of them - fun stories and great puzzles to solve - as good as adventure games get. This game has 3D graphics which make it more enjoyable and a bit different from the previous ones. Also much more voice acting as well. The mini-games are great. Great puzzles and a great story, what more can you ask for? This is a must buy.

    Definitely worth the cost of admission.

    I can&apos;t speak to the quality of the story in this oone specifically, as my playthrough hasn&apos;t gone that far yet. (The series is popular for good reason, I&apos;ll take it on faith this game is no exception.) However, what this game DID represent to me was another forty points in Club Nintendo before the program shut down, and it performed that role beautifully. I&apos;m now the proud owner of a Majora&apos;s Mask tote bag, and I owe it all to this game.

    More of the same great recipe.

    All of the games in the Professor Layton world are fantastic and this one is no different. The 3D is a nice touch as well for the movie scenes, but I leave it off for most of the game to help concentrate. Over all 10/10 in my book.
