Crusaders of Might and Magic makes its PlayStation debut as an action role-playing game viewed from a perspective set behind the lead protagonist. You are cast in the role of Drake, a lone fighter who lost his family when he was just a boy. Known as the "Scarred One" from the Book of Ages, Drake joins the elite High Guard on a crusade of justice and vengeance. Travel across five distinct lands while battling dwarves, giant ogres, and skeleton warriors. Your ultimate goal is to slay Necros, the dark lord of the undead.<br><br>Throughout your travels you will converse with townsfolk, knights, and other friendly characters for advice on your quest. Drake can jump, run, climb, duck, cast spells, and slash enemies with a multitude of weapons. He can strike barrels to uncover hidden items, roll to avoid attacks, and even perform a few flips in the air. In addition to offensive moves, Drake also can defend himself with shields, restore his health and mana with potions, and temporarily become invincible or increase his running speed with items. Venture between levels at any time as Drake increases his abilities in magic, strength, speed, skill, and other attributes.

A classic game.
I had to put myself back in the time period for this one. For the time it came out, the graphics, gameplay and story are compelling and strong. I would dare to say the combat helped shaped the way a lot of modern games play today. Between a lock-on system, spell casting and player progression, it’s no wonder the game has stayed in my mind all these years. It’s also a blast of nostalgia for me to be in Drake’s boots again. this game is ok, but it could be better
The game was so-so until I got my first mission and got to the catacombs, and my adventures had begun. The journey through the catacombs is one of the most challenging episodes in this game. The other challenging places are - the stronghold, the land of the ice giants, the land of dwarfs, to mention a few. The stronghold provides ample opportunities to guiltless gore, with its various demons and monsters. A good trick in the stronghold is to turn one type of monster against another, and watch them fight each other to death, which you see only in some other games (like Doom, for instance). After each mission, you go back to the queen, and that can be done only if you go through the catacombs. But the game doesn't become boring because of this, since the experience differs each time - each ... The game was so-so until I got my first mission and got to the catacombs, and my adventures had begun. The journey through the catacombs is one of the most challenging episodes in this game. The other challenging places are - the stronghold, the land of the ice giants, the land of dwarfs, to mention a few. But the game doesn't become boring because of this, since the experience differs each time - each time you pass through the catacomb, the NPC's are different in types capabilities, powers, speeds, weapons, and weaknesses. So there would not be a single point in the catacombs, anytime, when you would feel alone. And each time, you will pick up a new set of spells. But a caution of note though - not all spells work on all types of demons - use a 'Soul' drinker spell on a giant, and you can suck their life, but use it on a skeleton, you would actually 'lose' your life - doesn't that show real thought from the designers? Well, that is what makes the game more challenging and fun. The challenge is there, but all that is required from you is to remember the combination - block and attack - block and attack. Do this over and over you can defeat almost anyone (but beware of the ice giants though, they have immense power, and cannot be harmed easily - using soul drinkers on ice giants is a good idea). Well, in summary, it is interesting almost all of the time, and the graphics are pretty ok for a RTS game. If you don't have any other game, then you can play this game. But there are other games which are far more advanced than this game now. If you get a cheap copy, and really want to see how RTS games work, without getting killed easily, then this is the game for you. If you are the kind of players who would rather fight with a swords (various types, including boomer axes, which return to you after hitting the target), shields (the shield-rush can be used inflict damage to your enemies), magic (and there are many items you can pick-up in this catrgory), rather than picking up guns and nuking your enemies, well, this game could be for you. It was for me! I never regretted that I bought it.

bought the game because i used to own it but lost wanted another copy. what i like about the game it has alot of different events to follow but its behind in the graphics department but it was for the ps still pretty nice for those old days
