In den 50er Jahren hat Buri die Bedeutung des Symbolischen fer eine selbstkritische Theologie herausgearbeitet und eine Theologie der Verantwortung entworfen. Mit seinem Spatwerk tragt er, eber den Rahmen traditioneller systematischer Theologie hinaus, zum kulturebergreifenden Religionsdialog bei.Das vorliegende Werk gibt auf der Grundlage von Buris unveroeffentlichter Autobiographie wesentliche Einblicke in Buris Denk- und Lebensweg.
