About this product

Product Information

When a young urbanite calls to order cable TV for his apartment he gets much more than he bargained for, as the demented title character arrives and proceeds to insinuate his way into the beleaguered customer's life. Raised by television as a child and starved for human contact, the "cable guy" is a darkly hilarious carnation of the modern age. Carey's manic karaoke rendition of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" is a twisted highlight.

  • Different Move From Jim Carrey

This movie is quite different. It's not a laugh-out-loud comedy. Jim Carrey does not play a sweet dude who you'll want to hug. Instead, his character is one you'll want to keep your distance from. With that said, this film takes risks. It has a direction-altering third act. Jim's character, Chip, is full of quirks and neuroses. The main character, Steven, is sympathetic and likable. Heck, this film doesn't feature the same kind of sexist bro-bonding found in many later Judd Apatow films such as Knocked Up. This film is that good.

  • Decent, but only worth buying if you love Carrey

I've never been a huge Jim carrey fan, I don't think he's that funny and I think he tries too hard to be liked. I do enjoy most of his movies because they are funny but I have trouble watching them over and over. The Cable Guy is one of those movies. It is funny the first time, but it gets less and less funny as you continue to watch it. If you love Jim Carrey, you'll love this movie, if you just like him this movie is just a rental. Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy?: Already said it, to own this movie you must LOVE Jim carrey IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.
